Virginia’s Legacy High End Establishment
Purveying audio instruments dedicated to serving music nationwide since 1976
Audio Art was founded in 1976 as a haven for music connoisseurs, hobbyists, and audiophiles seeking audio systems that would be more faithful to the original recording event. Honoring music is both our avocation and vocation.
Stereophile’s founder, J. Gordon Holt said it best in 1962: “The better the ad, the worse the product.” Still true today, the majority of products clogging the market fail to capture music’s true essence. Music is enthralling and cathartic; its presentation should engage one’s emotions. We accomplish this by assembling synergistic systems that are sensitive to the art of music.
We built the Audio Art studio from the ground up, far exceeding AES specifications. Within this dedicated space, our clients can listen at their leisure without impediment. We specialize in two channel analog and digital, with a particular focus on vinyl and turntables.
Too many audio companies market products that confute pricing rationale. The over-wrought term ‘high end’ does not automatically mean high dollar. We proffer quality, high fidelity components that span the price spectrum — from inspirational systems for the novice just getting started on a limited budget to aspirational systems for those that demand the very best regardless of price.
Our longevity in this industry allows us to have hands-on evaluative experience with historical, current, and emerging products. That is why we do not sell products based on magazine reviews, internet videos, ads, shows, or blogger forums. We help cut through the confusion and misdirection. We avoid products that have chronic service issues, frequent upgrades, or those that pass through multiple distributors. Sharing this knowledge with our customers helps them avoid costly mistakes.
Thank you for visiting our site. It is our pleasure to provide guidance along your journey towards achieving superior sound. Tim Harrison
